Millennium Country Park celebrates 20th Green Flag Award Posted 17th July 2026 The Millennium Country Park in Marston Moretaine, owned and managed by the Forest of Marston Vale Trust, is celebrating after being awarded its 20th consecutive Green Flag Award. Recognised as the international quality mark for parks and green spaces, the Green Flag Award is a testament to the high standards of care, management and visitor experience provided at the Park year after year. Covering 225 hectares, the Millennium Country Park is nestled within the Forest of Marston Vale between Bedford and Milton Keynes. The Park is home to a rich variety of habitats, including woodland, meadows and wetlands, alongside a network of trails for walking, cycling and horse riding. At the heart of the Park is the Forest Centre, which offers a café, gift shop, children's play area and a range of accessible facilities, including a Sensory Wildlife Garden and a Changing Places toilet. Open throughout the year, the Park also hosts a wide variety of events for all ages, from children's trails and family activities to guided walks, talks and live entertainment. The Park is cared for by the Trust's dedicated ranger team, supported by a fantastic group of volunteers, who work throughout the year to maintain the site for both people and wildlife. Alongside managing the Millennium Country Park, the team also looks after the Trust's other 12 Community Woodlands across the Forest of Marston Vale, helping to create and care for valuable green spaces across the area. The Millennium Country Park is one of 2,391 sites across the UK to receive a Green Flag Award this year. It comes as the internationally recognised standard for parks and green spaces celebrates its 30th year. The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under contract from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for the management of green spaces across the United Kingdom and around the world.
