High Sheriff of Bedfordshire plants 10 trees to mark the end of Shrieval year

For over a decade, High Sheriffs have marked the end of their tenure by planting trees at one of the Forest of Marston Vale’s community woodlands and on a warm, grey afternoon on 21st March, we welcomed outgoing High Sheriff Lady Jane Clifford and High Sheriff in Nomination, Russell Beard, to Queens Wood, Ampthill. The company that built the wind turbine at Millennium Country Park have committed to contributing £10,000 a year into a Community Fund to which local groups can apply for up to £2,000 towards any educational, environmental or community projects. We are celebrating the 2023 recipients of the Community Fund and showcasing the projects they will use the fund for. Read more
