Our new Forest Shelter has arrived

After receiving £9k funding from the Postcode Local Trust and the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery and £4k from Tesco Bags of help, our Forest Volunteers fundraised the remaining money which has paid for our brand new Forest Shelter!

You’ll find it on the way into the Wetlands Nature Reserve, over the bridge by the event meadow and it looks amazing – even if we say so ourselves!

It’s something we’ve wanted for many years - any visiting group is very much at the mercy of the weather and the Forest Shelter provides enough space for a large group to shelter from the rain, or the sun, or just to re-group.

Amazingly it took less than a week to go up – check out how quick the progress was below:

Postcode Local Trust is a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of the People's Postcode Lottery - find out more about playing and supporting more amazing charities on their website.

Tesco have teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding Bags of Help Grant Scheme, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 awarded to community projects. You can see more info on their website.
