Site news - parkrun is back! It's time to dust off those trainers and get your stretches in - the Millennium Country Park parkrun returns Saturday 24th July! parkruns are free, weekly, community events all around the world. Whether you walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate, you can learn new skills and enhance your health and happiness in the great outdoors whilst making new friends, feeling part of your local community and improving your fitness. parkrun is a positive, welcoming and inclusive experience where there is no time limit and no one finishes last - everyone is welcome to come along. The Millennium Country Park parkrun is a 5km event, and starts at 9am. Starting near the Forest Centre, this is an out and back course, around Stewartby Lake, firstly in a clockwise direction till the turn around point, where you then retrace your steps back. It is entirely organised by volunteers - email [email protected] for help, or visit the parkrun website for more details and registration form. Registration is completely free and only needs to be done once: simply complete the form, print your barcode and head down to visit us on Saturday. Please note: parking charges apply, please see signage in the car park for information. Every week the parkrun team also visit the Forest Centre to grab a post parkrun coffee in Lakeside Café at the Forest Centre - if you'd like to join them we'd be more than happy to see you! If you're not joining the fun but do plan on visiting at this time it's worth noting that the car park can get full, and some of our pathways around Stewartby Lake are going to be busier than normal if you're visiting at this time.
