What's going on News National Volunteers' Week Our volunteers are amazing They equate to 7 full time members of staff and they’ve won the Queen’s Award, which is the highest level of award that you can get as a Voluntary body. Without them we simply couldn’t keep up the tree planting and woodland creation that we do. So firstly we’d like to do a shout out to our Volunteers – whether you are a regular or someone who helps at events or someone who works at our other sites that we (in the office) never get to meet – thank you! The work you do doesn’t just help us out – it benefits the tens of thousands of local people who use our sites every day (often without knowing they’re charity run). As it’s National Volunteers’ Week (1st-7th June) we’re on the lookout for some more Volunteers to join our team – we’re looking for people who would like to: Setup walks in their local woodlands (aka on our sites) Man our stands at events around the area (not this summer, but in future) Be Wood Wardens to keep an eye on our sites Run butterfly or other insect related surveys Organise fundraising events in their local communities If you’re interested in doing any of the above, drop us an email or call 01234 762608. We’d love to have you on our team! Not up for regular volunteering? How about fundraising for us instead – you can do whatever activity you want, just set up a page on here and start spreading the word to raise donations!
