What's going on News How to Christmas Shop with a conscience (and save money) Christmas Shopping season is upon us We all know that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are imminently going to be shoved in our faces over the coming weeks, but the hassle of Christmas shopping has already started for many of us so we’ve put together a little (not entirely selfish) list of ways you can raise money for charity whilst getting your big shop done, and maybe even saving yourself some money in the process. (Obviously, when we say charity we mean us!) Give as you Live This is a really easy way of raising money for charity without lifting a finger – you can either download a plugin for your browser (that will popup whenever you’re on a relevant website), or just use their site as a starting point when you’re buying online, and it’ll automatically donate a percentage of your purchase to your charity of choice, at no extra cost to you. They have over 4000 shops on board, like Amazon, M & S, Booking.com, eBay, Boots, Tesco and more – all the ones you’re most likely to use! Savoo This one is a must if you’re looking for voucher codes – once you’ve signed up, any voucher codes that you use via their website also donate a portion to charity. So you’re saving money, and donating at the same time. There are hundreds of online shops on board – from the Disney Store, to NCP parking, to Interflora and the list updates regularly so keep an eye on it in the next few weeks for some amazing Black Friday discounts. Another easy way to help, is to use Savoo as your main search engine, which raises a few pence per click – again, at no cost to you. Amazon Smile If you're more of an Amazon person, you can raise 0.5% on all eligible products, just by starting your shop at smile.amazon.co.uk rather than the regular site. Everything looks the same and it costs you nothing (it's an easy change to make if you already have Amazon bookmarked!) We’ve all got these things setup on our computers in the office and the pennies really add up over time. Obviously, the best thing about it all is – it isn’t your money! The companies that have signed up for these donations are all doing the right thing by giving back to charity, so you can get a doubly warm glow, knowing that you’ve donated AND made a corporation do the same. If you need a bit more Christmas gift-spiration, then look no further than our online Christmas Gift shop - from, tree dedications, to theatre tickets, we've got you covered and everything we sell puts money back into planting trees in the Forest.
