What is guaranteed to put a great big smile on our Head Ranger Anna’s face? Telling her she’s got £2251.46 to spend on equipment and resources for the children’s activities she runs in the Millennium Country Park! I had the pleasure of giving Anna the good news this week, after hearing from the Co-op Local Community Fund that this was the amount raised for us in their latest round of funding. So Anna’s planning on having a little spending spree!

The money raised will be used for a wide range of resources including animal identification charts, magnifying glasses and pots, bug nets and arts & crafts materials – Anna was especially excited about the googly eyes she’s ordering!!

If you shop at the Co-op and are a member, every time you buy Co-op branded goods 1% of what you spend goes into the Local Community Fund along with the money raised from the sale of carrier bags.  The money we’re getting this time has been raised from the Marston Moretaine store, so thank you to everyone who’s been shopping and supporting us!

But there’s more good news – we’ve been chosen to be one of the charities for the next round of funding too, this time at the store in Cranfield. We’ve got 2 woodland areas in Cranfield – Rectory Wood, which is one of our oldest woodlands, and Waypost Wood, which is our newest (we’re still planting there!) So if you’re a Co-op shopper, please choose to support us. Plus it’s really easy to sign up to be a Co-op member, just ask in-store for details.
