Be part of something amazing!

Meet new people, improve your physical and mental wellbeingshare your skills and learn new ones - all while supporting your local Community Forest.

Join us for our next volunteer day on Thursday 27th June and help us to pull ragwort at the Millennium Country Park, Marston Moretaine. We would really appreciate your help!

Some areas of the Millennium Country Park are currently in poor condition for grazing and has a fair amount of ragwort which is toxic to horses and cattle. To improve the quality of the grass we need to be able to graze it, and to graze it we need to pull the ragwort. Improving the grassland will benefit the wildflowers, invertebrates, small mammals and birds which use it including both harvest mice and barn owls.

All you need to know:

  • Meet outside the barn at the Millennium Country Park, Marston Moretaine at 9.30am (you can go to the reception at the Forest Centre if you are unsure where the barn is)

  • Parking charges do not apply when volunteering - please make sure that you give your registration number when you sign in for your task
