#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving on Tuesday 28th November where people across the world support their communities and charities. It started in the States back in 2012, but now 98 countries across the world take part and millions are raised for charities large and small. For a small, local charity like the Forest of Marston Vale, #GivingTuesday gives us a great opportunity to spread the word about who we are and what we do and hopefully raise money too!

Give your time

One way of giving back to the Forest is to volunteer your time. We have a great band of volunteers, some of whom give their time regularly each week to come and help us, and others who join in as and when they can. We have volunteers of all ages, from all walks of life with lots of different skills. Our practical volunteers are an outdoorsy bunch and they get involved in everything from processing firewood to hedge laying.

Our fundraising and event volunteers love socialising and talking to people so they get involved with running activities and games at our events, selling raffle tickets and attending fetes and fundays for us. If you’ve got the time, we can use your help! Send us an email to get started.

bottles of alcohol

Give your alcohol

Starting at our Christmas Tree Festival on 2nd-3rd December we’re running a Christmas Drinks Hamper Raffle, and need donations of booze to fill up the Hamper. Cans or bottles, beer, wine, spirits or mixers will help us. So whether you raid your drinks cupboard or just add another bottle to your weekly shop, please drop your donation in to Robina at the Forest Centre before the end of November.

Give your money

Our big Appeal at the moment is raising money to build a Forest Shelter in the Millennium Country Park for school and community groups to use when they visit the Park. A Forest Shelter will make a big difference to these groups – shelter from the rain and protection from the sun, helping them to enjoy their visit whatever the weather. To build and install the shelter we need £15,000. Anything you can give will make a difference and get us closer to our target - £1, £5, £50, whatever the amount be part of #GivingTuesday and make a donation towards our Forest Shelter today.
