From Elizabeth to Anne

'The national goings on were also felt in Ampthill in various ways. John Hele's talk starts with the death of Elizabeth I and ends with Anne coming onto the throne. By that time Ampthill had two stately homes and had had Rectors who had not always seem eye to eye with the authorities. Coupled with the Civil War and its effects on the locality, there is an interesting story to tell! '

Talks are approx. 1 hour long, with time for questions.

As there is a cost involved in putting on the Learning Lunchtime talks, donations to the Forest of Marston Vale are much appreciated. Parking charges also apply. Friends of the Forest get free parking all year round* at the Forest Centre - click here for more information
