The flies you can (and should) love! Join Bedfordshire Invertebrate Group’s Stephen Plummer to learn about the master of mimicry and gardeners friend, the hoverfly.

Talks are approx. 1 hour long, with time for questions. Limited space available, please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

As there is a cost involved in putting on the Learning Lunchtime talks, donations to the Forest of Marston Vale are much appreciated. There will be a collection bucket in the room or you can click here to donate online if you'd prefer. Parking charges also apply. Friends of the Forest get free parking all year round* at the Forest Centre - click here for more information.

Please note: this event will be subject to the most up-to-date Covid-19 regulations at the time of the event.

About the speaker

B.I.G was launched in 2012 partly in order to facilitate the Neglected Insects in Beds initiative (which aims to encourage greater interest in insect groups previously not well-studied in the County and increase the records of these) but also so that those interested in invertebrates generally can meet up in the field for joint excursions.

If you're interested in the Millennium Country Park, we run events like talks, family activities and guided nature walks throughout the year. Click here to view our upcoming events.
