Bird Breeding Cycles and Song Talk (10.30am - 12.30pm)

Creator of the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch Peter Holden looks at the wonderful world of birds and bird song, looking closely at the local bird life in Bedfordshire. He'll be unravelling some of their mysteries, and little known facts that help us understand their huge impact on our environment.

Nesting Talk (1.30 - 3.30pm)

'We all know birds build nests, but we tend to overlook the amazing variety of structures and the different strategies used to protect eggs and young. This talk looks at many of those secrets and uses personal photographs – many taken behind the scenes at the London Natural History Museum and the Museum of Natural History in New York.'

A bit more about the speaker

He is a regular lecturer for the RSPB and runs ornithology courses for Cambridge University’s Institute for Continuous Education (Madingley Hall) and for the Bedford Education Retirement Centre.
