Battlefield Live

A revolutionary outdoor combat game; it’s like being part of a computer game. It doesn’t hurt when you die, and there is absolutely no mess. Grab the gun, slip on the hat and you’re ready for action! Missions start at £2 for 5 lives and run up to £10 for a full hour, unlimited lives. Players must be aged 8 or over.

Coming to the festival for the fourth time, Robin's Reach are always swamped with people keen to give their favourite sport a try. There will as always be plenty of volunteers on hand to make sure you get your hands on a bow and to answer all those questions you've always wanted to ask about archery.Have a go at archery £2 for 5 arrows.  Minimum age 5 year.

Ian Freemantle will take part in the Woodworks chainsaw carve-up in the arena as well as exhibiting and selling his fabulous carved benches and other pieces; all made from locally sourced wood.

English School of Falconry

A very welcome return for these beautiful birds, usually based at Shuttleworth in Bedfordshire. Not only will there be plenty of opportunity to meet the birds close up and talk to their handlers, but they will also flying over the arena during the weekend - one flying display on Saturday and two on Sunday.  The birds will also be available to meet on site

One of the stars of Woodworks 2008. Phil is among only a few wheelwrights still working yet he is busy making and repairing wheels for wagons and carts all round the world. Woodworks is a great chance to meet Phil and find out about this old and very skillful craft. Also a display of wheelwrighting tools.

Peter has brought his fantastic moble sawmill to every Woodworks so far and each year it seems even better than the last. He will once again be the festival's sawyer; cutting other people's logs into posts and boards while everyone else enjoys the noise, dust and general spectacle.

‘Good physical health and keeping physically fit are associated with mental well being. This is the focus of ‘ Get Moving’, a national project to promote the benefits to mental health of being active. This project will take place in October 2009 and is coordinated by the Time to Change campaign
