Brogborough Gateway |
Welcome to the Brogborough Gateway TrailA pleasant three and a half mile walk centring on Reynold Wood...
Take a picnic (with hot soup of course!) to the Picnic site on the hill and enjoy fantastic views down across the Vale. You can see most of the Forest area from here. The site is easy to act to from the A421, near Brogborough village. It's a good starting point for several country walks. The Brogborough Gateway Trail will lead you from the picnic area to Reynold and Hulcot Wood, owned and managed by the Woodland Trust. There are walk options for the beginner, and the more experienced, taking you through over 300 acres of beautiful ancient and newly planted woodland. For the keener walker, the 'Clay Way' runs through the area, an 11.5 mile walk stretching the length of the Forest, taking in the great scenery of the west Bedfordshire clay ridge. The area also boasts a permanent orienteering course set up with South Midlands orienteering Club. We sell maps (complete with instructions for first timers!) from the Forest Centre - cost £1 plus a stamped addressed envelope. A great introduction to this growing sport. |

The
Brogborough Gateway area is the ideal place to visit in the Forest of
Marston Vale. Looking for a place to clear those cobwebs? This is it!
