Health & Safety and Visitor Information
The Forest Centre is a NO SMOKING Building and is fitted with smoke detectors in all rooms and corridors. There is a smoking shelter located outside the front of the building which is clearly signposted.
Fire Alarm
If for any reason the Fire Alarm is activated, you will hear a loud continuous bell. On hearing the bell visitors should make their way to the nearest Fire Exit, these are clearly marked. Visitors should wait at the Fire Assembly point, which is located on the blocked paving between the main entrance and the car park. Do not re-enter the building until told it is safe to do so by a member of the Forest Centre Team.
Trainers and conference organisers are requested to inform the Forest Centre reception of the final number of delegates attending each event and to be responsible for advising a member of the Forest Centre Team if a delegate has not reported at the assembly point in the case of an evacuation.
Toilets
Male, Female and Disabled toilets are located both in the Public Area of the Forest Centre just before the double doors leading to the Conference Rooms and on the 1st Floor opposite the office. Unisex toilets for conference delegates are located at the far end of the corridor opposite the Seminar Room.
Car Parking
The Car Park is free and open to the public from 10am – 4pm in winter or until 6pm in summer. Delegates attending courses or conferences at the Forest Centre outside these hours will be able to park up to 30 minutes before the allotted start time and for a further 15 minutes following the scheduled completion time of their event. Please make sure all delegates remove all valuables from their cars.
Messages for Delegates
A message board is located in the corridor opposite the Conference Room, please check this regularly for messages. Anyone who needs to contact a delegate should telephone the main Forest Centre number (01234) 767037
Public Telephone
There is a public telephone at the Forest Centre reception area.
Forest Centre Gift Shop
The Forest Centre has a gift shop which is open the same hours as the Forest Centre. Delegates are welcome to purchase gifts from our wide and unique selection of crafts, toys, books, cards and house wares.
The Forest Centre accepts all major credit cards, debit cards, cheques and cash.
Planting Trees
The Forest Centre and Millennium Country Park are owned by the Marston Vale Trust a registered charity Number 1069229. We do not receive any grant aid for the operation of the Forest Centre or Millennium Country Park.
The training & conference facilities, shop, café bar and exhibition are used to generate much needed funds for the continued operation of the Centre, maintenance and improvement of the park and wetlands reserve and to help us continue with the conservation work, tree planting and creation of the Forest of Marston Vale.
