Walking in the Millennium Country Park
Peace and quiet
The Park offers superb walking. With around six miles of surfaced paths, it can be enjoyed throughout the year, however wet the ground. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the quiet and feeling of having really got away from it all, so why not pack a picnic?
Easy to access
Most of the Park is flat and the surfaced paths are free from stiles and gates, providing good access for people with all sorts of abilities. For detailed information about the paths in the Park, visit www.letsgo.org.uk

Wildlife aplenty
The excellent network of footpaths in the Park leads to ponds, lakes, meadows and woodlands. This wide variety of habitats, mostly created since 1998, attracts a surprisingly diverse range of wildlife, so expect to see wading birds, dragonflies, wildfowl, warblers, orchids... ..depending on your luck, the weather and of course, the time of year. There's a small charge for access to the wetland trail, otherwise access to the Park is free.
Lakeside Cafe
However long your walk, a long cool drink or a warming coffee could be just what you need, so don't forget to drop into the Forest Centre's wonderful and fully licensed Lakeside Cafe. |

Good connections
At the heart of the Marston Vale, the Country Park can form the starting point for many longer walks. With the help of an Ordnance Survey map (1:25,000 Explorer, No. 208) there are plenty of fantastic routes to devise; or perhaps have a go at the Marston Vale Timberland Trail (13 miles) or the Jubilee Trail (6 miles), both of which start from the Forest Centre.
There are many access points for pedestrians, so on foot you can enjoy a walk there at any time. However, please see our opening hours to check when the car park and Forest Centre itself are open.
