Cycling in the Millennium Country Park

Safe and beautiful

Looking for somewhere to ride your bike that's safe, flat and beautiful? Look no further! If you want to ensure your children enjoy the pleasure and freedom of cycling without the dangers of road traffic, the Millennium Country Park is a great place to visit. There are 5 miles (8km) of safe, surfaced cycle trails that lead all the way around the wonderful Park, taking you through young woodland and lovely meadows and the whole way around Stewartby Lake.

Lakeside Cafe

However long your ride, a long cool drink or a warming coffee could be just what you need, so don't forget to drop into the Forest Centre's excellent, fully licensed Lakeside Cafe.

Free parking

If you need to bring bikes by car, there's loads of free parking and space to unload easily.

Places to cycle nearby...

Sustrans National Cycleway, Route 51 passes through the Country Park, so if you fancy a longer ride or have a mind to explore further afield, take a look and see how far you could go. In Bedfordshire, Route 51 connects Milton Keynes to Sandy, but beyond that it's a direct link between Oxford and Cambridge.

The Greenwood Trail is a 23 mile circular route which includes 5 miles around the lakeside and parkland of the Millennium Country Park. On leaving the park, the remainder of the cycle trail uses a series of B roads and country lanes that meander through the villages of mid and north Bedfordshire.

Bedfordshire Cycle Routes 3 - Marston Vale  is a 27 mile circuit on roads that link Bedford with Ampthill, Marston Moretaine and the Millennium Country Park
